چکیده

Abstract Glioblastomas are the most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Subject age is a strong prognostic factor for survival. We performed co-morbidity analysis of younger vs. older (greater than 65 years) adults with grade IV gliomas (GIV) to understand inherent differences that vary subject age. Electronic health records 1,208 GIV patients were collected at single center between 1/1/2000 and 9/8/2021 used construct multivariable time-dependent cox model examined intra-cohort hazards associated 33 measures related symptoms. The date diagnosis was identified as start time, death define event time. Patients alive or lost follow-up censored last recorded date. Survival time calculated difference censorship. stratified by IDH MGMT promoter methylation status when available. Younger experienced greater hazard with: limitations movement (1.88 [1.46, 2.43] ****), gait (1.72 [1.17, 2.52] **), weakness (1.96 [1.26, 3.06] seizures (1.28 [1.04, 1.58] *), epilepsy (1.47 [1.09, 1.99] anxiety disorders (2.37 [1.44, 3.92], **). Older an increased confusion altered mental (4.3 [2.08, 8.89], ****). Both groups increases eye/visual systems plegia. These data indicate novel comorbid enrichments varying that, from mechanistic perspective, may be better why survive significantly less counterparts.

Comparison of Prooxidant-antioxidant Balance between Patients with High Grade Gliomas (IV) and Control Group

Background & Aim: The most common primary brain tumors of the central nervous system are gliomas. Among a number of different biomolecular events, a strong relation between oxidative stress pathways and the development of this cancer has been proved. Oxidative stress (OS) is the consequence of an imbalance between pro-oxidants and antioxidants towards pro-oxidants. The pro-oxidants cause lipid ...

The present retrospective study was designed to analyze factors with prognostic values a) within, and b) significantly associated with, short-term (12months or less) and long-term (more than 24 months) survival times, i n 72 consecutive patients treated for malignant gliomas. Among 41 (57%) short-term surviving patients, the absence of both aphasia and motor deficit (as initial presenting ...

Population based age stratified morbidities of premature infants in Switzerland.

OBJECTIVE To provide population-based, gestational age (GA) stratified incidence of mortality and morbidities. METHODS Population-based prospective observational study of infants born between 23 0/7 and 31 6/7 weeks GA in the years 2000-2004 in all Swiss neonatal intensive care units. Outcomes measured were: mortality, severe intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH), periventricular leukomalacia (P...
